Mandria
Less than 5 years ago, Mandria was a sleepy undiscovered village on the outskirts of Paphos, yet today it is becoming a prime affordable location for many holiday makers and residents. The square as you enter the village is served by two tavernas, our favourite being George's place on the right hand side by the little fountain. George's hospitality is warm and welcoming and here a family can feast on mixed slouvaki, village salad, olives, pitas and chips with a carafe of wine for less than CY£15. Mandria has miles of beautiful unspoilt beaches which is a prime spot for walking, fishing, snorkelling, bathing or even horse riding and the many barbecues left on the beaches are for all to use and enjoy the sun sets!
Geroskipou
Located 3 km east of Paphos. The name of the village comes from the Greek phrase 'leros Kipos' the sacred garden of Aphrodite. A fascinating collection of folk arts and crafts is exhibited in the beautiful Chatzismith house. The village is well known for basketware, pottery and Cyprus Delights. Geriskipou Beach is an excellent place to spend the day with a choice of two restaurants; the Atlantida which offers excellent fish or Rico's, a real Shirley Valentine place right by the edge of the sea. Here there is a sandy beach and grassed sun lounge areas. There is a choice of watersports available and a municipal Tennis Club.
Konia
Located 10 mins from Paphos Town Centre, Konia is a thriving, highly regarded area of Paphos where one can combine the healthy climate with the breathtaking views of the crystal clear blue sea. Perched in an elevated position Konia escapes the humidity and intensity of the heat by the coast and enjoys a gentle cooling breeze. The village has a choice of tavernas, takeaways, coffee shops, kiosks and has a reputable school.
Marathounta
Marathounta is a smaller neighbouring village to Konia that has many proposed developments set to put it on the map. Like Konia, it is above the humidity level and enjoys a gentle refreshing breeze in the height of Summer. The views frame undulating countryside rolling down towards distant sea views and this unique location offers a peaceful haven minutes away from Tsada golf course, the centre of Paphos and the highway.
